CHANDIGARH, June 17: Sikh Intellectual Council has alleged that photograph presented by Capt Amarinder Singh to the Sikh clergy in the Tohra-Nirankari episode and published in a section of the media on May 24 pertained to a function of Sewa Dal rally which took place on August 5, 1996 at Nirankari Bhawan Patiala.

In a statement issued here today, Baldev Singh Balluana, president of the council clarified that the photograph presented by Amarinder Singh was a distorted one which had no connection with the alleged visit of Gurcharan Singh Tohra to Nirankari Bhawan, Patiala. There was a conspiracy by vested interests led by Capt Amarinder Singh to defeame and humiliate G.S. Tohra.

It had been further alleged that the negative presented to Bhai Ranjit Singh, Akal Takht chief, on June 6, was not the original one, but was doctored with the help of a computer.
