CHANDIGARH, MARCH 22: Chandigarh Police and Coaching Centre Sector 42, took home the titles in the men’s and women’s section, respectively, in the Chandigarh State senior kabaddi championships, which concluded at the Government College of Education-20, here today. Chandigarh cops combined well to beat Coaching Centre-42, 41-23 while CC-42 girls outplayed Kabaddi Coaching Centre `A’ 73-30, in an one-sided encounter.

Chandigarh’s Police experience enabled them to dominated the contest. They were leading by 10 points at the break (23-13).

Satbir and Ramesh were the main scorers for the eventual winners. Davinder Singh was the main raider for CC-42, who scored most of the points for the team.

Earlier, Chandigarh cops thrashed Manav Kendra Sports Club 80-20, in a lacklustre affair while CC-42 prevailed over Government College of Education-20, 39-11.

In the women’s section, CC-42 were far better than their opponents Dhanas in all the department of the game. Sarla, Sneh Lata and Gurpreet were the main raiders for CC-42.

Sunita, Monica and Prabhati scored for Dhanas team Cash awardRupinder Deep Kaur of Punjab Engineerng College, who won the brone medal in the 63kg category in the fifth National Games held at Imphal, was recently given a cash award of Rs 10000 by TC Gupta, president, Punjab Judo Association. Rupinderdeep also won best athlete title in the women’s section in the PEC athletic meet held recently.
