VADODARA, May 20: Distribution of forms at the M S University8217;s Faculty of Science will be held amidst tight police security on Friday, following threats from union leader Hetal Shah that he would disturb the system if any decision was taken against him at the special syndicate scheduled for Friday.
Senior professors of the faculty said that security measures were taken even on Thursday, but the security would be tightened on Friday. Officials also added that on the very first day of distribution, as many as 1,200 students had already bought forms in comparison to previous year8217;s 1,300 on the first day.
The rush is expected to increase after the Faculty of Engineering and Technology stops handing out forms. Distribution of engineering forms was also low comparison to last year.
Officials at the Faculty of Science opine that the distribution date for the faculties colliding has been a disadvantage to both. He added that the actual figure of where the rush would be could be concluded only after the distribution was over in one of the faculties. 8220;The distribution date and the last date for accepting the forms are also the same in both faculties, hence it would be difficult to conclude what would be the original demand at both faculties,8221; he added.
Meanwhile union leader Hetal Shah has decided to gherao M S University Vice-Chancellor Anil Kane and syndicate members before their meeting on Friday.
