The hot air drifted into my room, where I was reading. It was a book I had read almost over five times, but as there was nothing else to do, I decided to see if I could make any new sense out of it. Just then a friend burst in with the idea of exploring the haunted museum. I jumped at the chance of seeing it, so we got on our bikes and set off.

quot;No never, definitely not!quot; Those were the three negative phrases the guard at the door said with firmness. quot;It8217;s not for small kids. There are things inside that will scare you out of your wits.quot; So saying, he gave us a steely look and stalked off for his daily morning cup of tea. We were not going to turn back after coming all that way and had made up our minds to disobey that order. So in we went.

The fort had grown yellow with age. Cobwebs hung here and there. I grimaced as one of them stuck to my face and tried to take out the sticky thing with my fingers. A dark mist swirled ahead of us, and that was very strange as it was the middle of May! I was literally shivering in my boots but I was not going to indicate that to my friend no, never, definitely not.But however, I could feel her trembling beside me. Suddenly, she screamed and fainted. Ahead of us, a tall figure in white ascended down the stairs towards us. It smiled hauntingly when it spotted us and advanced as if in a trance. With just the slightest hesitation, we turned and sped back through the cobwebs and fog. I could hear the figure gliding behind me.

And then most unfortunately I tripped and fell over a broken pillar which suddenly looked like an open grave, I felt the figure place on an arm on my shoulder.

8220;No!8221; I screamed, quot;this cannot be happening to me!quot; I woke up to bright daylight. quot;Get up. I want you to run some errands for me, and it might take several rounds to the shop and back!quot; I heard my mothers voice saying. I groaned and was about to make some excuse when my friend burst in with the idea of visiting the haunted museum outside the city. And much to her surprise and my mothers I said, with an air of finality, quot;Sorry but I8217;ve got to run some errands for mother!8221;
