VADODARA, May 21: Members of the All-India Federation of University and College Teachers Organisation (AIFUCTO) met Union Minister for HRD Murli Manohar Joshi on Wednesday to discuss their pending demands.
National Secretary of AIFUCTO, Nikhil Desai said that the discussions were primarily concentrated on scrapping posts of senior readers. The association has also suggested increments for teachers doing their Ph.D during service.
The members also discussed their 35-point programme with the Union education secretary. The members will meet in Shimla on June 7 to review the outcome of their talk.
Desai warned that if their demands were not considered, they would call for an all-India indefinite strike.
