Guess what stung NCP President Sharad Pawar when he showed up at Room No 18, Parliament House, to be at hand while presidential candidate Pratibha Patil filed her nomination papers? Well, it was Maharashtra minister Harshvardhan Patil, a staunch opponent of Pawar in his Baramati Lok Sabha constituency. Harshvardhan came as part of the august group, which included the UPA candidate, Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh and Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh. Harshvardhan is a nephew of former Baramati MP S B Patil. Though elected as an Independent from the Indapur Assembly constituency in the last polls, the Congress has made him a minister. The reason: he is a thorn in Pawar8217;s flesh.
