Bahuguna’s wife, who rushed to his defence also suffered injuries, he said, adding that the youth was later handed over to the police.

Terming the attack as a well planned conspiracy against his father, Rajiv Bahuguna said he had been attacked in the past as well and police had been apprised of the threat to his life. Bahuguna alleged that the police did not interrogate the youth and let him off. Major political parties have condemned the attack and demanded adequate security for the environmentalist.
