SURAT, March 8: General Manager of district industries centre and joint industries Commissioner Dasadia claimed that the long-pending problem of subsidy would now be solved with the State government allocating a grant of Rs 11.26 crore for the purpose in the current year.

He said this at a meeting convened to review the progress of works related to industries of the district here on Saturday. Taking stock of the progress made by DIC in the field of self-employment, Dasadia said out of 2123 applications for loans under bankable schemes, 1,000 were sanctioned. Also, 859 applications were sanctioned under the Prime Minister8217;s Employment Guarantee Scheme while 3336 applications for under self-employment schemes were recommended.
