NAHAN, May 3: The Paonta Police recovered body of Ashutosh (20), a student of ITI Ambala Cantonment from Yamuna river at Paonta yesterday. The student had drowned on Friday.Simaur district SP Raj said that some ITI students from Ambala Cantt came to Paonta Sahib on a visit and went to take bath in Yamuna on Friday. He said that three students Ashutosh, Surender and Sushil drowned in the river and on their raising alarm of drowning, the Shiv Sena volunteers at Paonta rushed to their help and their attempt could save Surender and Sushil while Ashutosh went out of their reach. He could not be traced even after efforts made by the volunteers.District president of Shiv Sena Ram Lal said that Ramesh Thakur and Sanjay Kumar, the two volunteers of Shiv Sena who saved the lives of two students putting their lives to danger would be rewarded at a function to be arranged at Paonta. He urged the district administration to recommend the name of two volunteers for President award.
