The Congress in UP on Monday alleged that the ruling BSP may tie up with the BJP in the wake of threat to the UPA government at the Centre over the Indo-US
nuclear issue.
“It is to be noted that in the recent BJP rally on June 27 here, L K Advani clearly abstained from targeting the BSP and in fact hinted of a possible political alliance with it,” UPCC President Reeta Bahuguna Joshi said.
“Both the parties are aspiring to make their presence felt in the central government and have the same ideology.”
Meanwhile, the UPCC president asked party workers to gear up for Lok Sabha elections, which can be announced “anytime”.
Joshi denied having any talks with Samajwadi Party for forging an alliance with it, saying that any such decision will be taken by the party high command.
