MUMBAI, MARCH 19: Manjri Stud bred filly Star shine (C Rajendra up) bursted with speed at the crucial stage and cantered away with the Manjri Stud Breeders’ Juvenile Fillies Championship, 1600 metres, one of the main event run on Sunday at the Mahalakshmi. Favourite Lady Moura raised hopes at the top of the home stretch, but could do no better than saving place money.

The other major event, The Shapoorji Pallonji Breeders’ Juvenile Colts Championship, 1600 metrers, was easily bagged by Running Star, guided by jockey NG McCullagh. Soviet Ace, who had disappointed last time, put up a bold show and finished noteworthy second.

Riders C Rajendra, NG McCullagh and M Kharadi scored a double each.
