Malayali actors Biju Menon and Samyuktha Varma have decided to tie the knot, ending their two-year-old love affair.

The marriage will be held tomorrow at the Indoor Stadium here in the presence of relatives and thousands of well-wishers and fans.

Samyuktha was in the news not so long ago when the actress and five others travelling with her were detained for questioning at New York’s La Guardia Airport on suspicion of being terrorists.

The group — which had Samyuktha, her parents, younger sister, singer Biju Narayanan and comedian Jayaraj Warrier — was in the US to attend entertainment programmes organised by Malayali associations. They were flying from Dallas to New York City on July 16 when a co-passenger got suspicious as they passed notes among themselves and exchanged seats.

Biju and Samyuktha have acted together in a number of films. Reports of the two getting closer had appeared in local magazines and newspapers when the film Chandranudhikunna Dhikkil, in which both had acted, was released. However, both had then laughed them off saying they were only rumours.

There are reports that some TV channels are making efforts to secure exclusive rights to record the marriage ceremony. However, Biju said that granting any TV channel exclusive rights to record the function is out of the question. ‘‘We had not even thought of such a thing,’’ he added.
