Bangalore, May 22: Top seed Prahlad Srinath was a run-way winner against Artem Derepasko of Russia in the Wearhouse-Century Club men’s ITF Satellite tennis first-leg final. The Indian took 68 minutes to demolish the Russian 6-4, 6-4 at the Club courts on Saturday.

In the doubles, the top seeded Kirtane cousins — Nitin and Sandeep — were stretched by second seeded Syed Fazaluddin (India) and Ashley Ford (Australia) before scoring a 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 victory.

With three stunning returns, Srinath broke the Russian’s serve at love and smashing two aces in the second game, was up 2-0. The second seeded Russian kept most of his rallies to Srinath’s backhand which boomeranged as the Indian sent some fine cross-court winners. Another break in the fifth game put Srinath into a comfortable 4-1 lead. And he never looked back.
