
Delhi was as much an intrigue as a matter of fascination for Israeli Interior Minister Meir Sheetrit . In town to attend the Asian ministers8217; meet on disaster risk reduction, Sheetrit took time out to sample a slice of Delhi life. Driving past India Gate, he spotted an autorickshaw and asked for a ride. The autos were not the only aspect of Delhi that had him captivated. He was as wide-eyed about the green expanses he came across while driving through New Delhi. 8220;There8217;s so much vacant land that constructing multistoreyed apartments in these spaces will solve the city8217;s housing problem,8221; he said. Wonder if he brought this up during his official interactions with representatives of the Central Government.
