Anti-war films screened
Concerned about the nuclear tests conducted in the sub-continent, the University Working women8217;s Association UWA arranged for the screening of two films on July 29. The first one, The War Games, an old BBC film couldn8217;t have been more timely and thought provoking. The film explores the aftermath of a nuclear attack on Britain as the Russians launch a full-fledged attack.
The film was followed by the brilliant Dr Strangelove8230; or how I learnt to stop worrying and start loving the bomb. Considered as one of director Stanley Kubrick8217;s best works, it takes a number of pot-shots at the nuclear deterrence at the height of the cold war. With the ladies taking a stand, here8217;s hoping that the politicians on both sides of the border don8217;t mess things up.

The school topped a software programming contest held by the Computer Society of India and one of the students won the silver medal in the elementary grade exam held by C-DAC.
