CHENNAI, August 8: One person who was attempting to smuggle birds from Tamil Nadu to neighbouring AP and Kerala, was arrested by Forest Department officials at the Central Station here. The man had packed live jungle fowl and munias into three baskets, providing only wheat, and no water, to them. He was nabbed while trying to load the birds on to the Charminar Express. The accused, Mujeeb, who was fined last year for a similar offence, said the munias, caught mainly from Villupuram, were meant for a temple at Kozhikode, Kerala, where they were to be released.
