After weeks of screaming themselves hoarse, suddenly nobody wants to talk. In Rajasthan, a day before the final verdict, politicians are preferring to keep mum.

While incumbent Ashok Gehlot remained huddled inside his official Chief Ministerial bungalow, BJP8217;s candidate Vasundhara Raje chose to unwind in Delhi. Most of the others stayed put in their constituencies.

The one thing most of them have been doing, though, is praying. A number of them, including Gehlot, have visited temples before and after polling. The favourite destination this season seems to be temples with Raje scheduled to spend her anxious moments on the counting day at the Tripura Sundari Shrine in Banswara district.

While it8217;s all peace and quiet otherwise, the only thing remotely related to the election drama was the news of repolling in a few constituencies across 12 districts, including Bikaner where flash floods left voters stranded.

Another topic doing the rounds is the record polling in the state. The state has recorded an all-time high of 67 per cent polling, beating records of 63 per cent in 1998 when the Congress had a landslide victory.

Gehlot sees the large turnout as a stamp of approval for his work. The BJP is sticking with the traditional theory that a high voting percentage goes against the ruling party.
