CHANDIGARH, MARCH 22: Over 60 women attended a one-day awareness course on legal literacy for anganwadi workers and lady learners of the post-literacy programme jointly organised by the Department of Adult and Continuing Education, Panjab University and Female Literacy House in Sector 40, today.

Ajaib Singh, director of Centre for Adult Education, PU, stressed that education was important in removing social and economic difficulties of girls and women.

Paramjit Singh Jaiswal of the Department of Laws explained the various provisions under the Hindu Marriage Act and the Dowry Law.
