
AHMEDABAD, Aug 1: The donations for jawans involved in the Kargil conflict continue to pour in with unfailing regularity. At a function held in Gandhinagar on Saturday, the All India Sindhi Chamber of Commerce and Industries (AISCCI) donated a cheque of Rs 4.32 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, for the soldiers.
On behalf of the Chamber, MLA Mayaben Kodnani presented the cheque to the Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel, an official release said. Present on the occasion were former MLAs Lekh Raj Bachani and Gopal Das Bhojwani.
Apart from organisations like AISCCI, school children also remained on the fore-front in contributing to the welfare of the brave jawans and their families. For instance, the students and teachers of the St.John School, Bapunagar on Saturday, donated Rs 20,177 towards the CM’s Relief Fund. Similarly, students and teachers of the Sabarmati Kanya Vidyalaya, also donated a cheque of Rs 1.3 lakh to Major Ramesh Chiklikar, at a function organised on Saturday.
