Coming off a three month-long complete break from cricket after March, probables at the Asia Cup camp at the M A Chidambaram stadium here practised on the main turf simulating a match situation, with fielders and umpires.

India go into the six-nation tournament starting July 16 holding an edge over other teams based on their superior performances last season, but coach John Wright seemed to be of the opinion that the players were better off getting into the match-groove, before actually playing their first one-dayer.

The Kiwi stationed himself at first slip and supervised the proceedings on the third day of the camp as the Tendulkar-Sehwag duo first took guard and faced Zaheer Khan, L Balaji and Amit Bhandari. Yuvraj Singh, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh and Mohammed Kaif also played out other bowlers including Irfan Pathan and Ashish Nehra, with two bowlers operating from one end to save time.

Captain Saurav Ganguly batted later in the day, even as each member received feedback from former England captain Sir Geoffery Boycott, present at the camp on invitation from BCCI.

Some of the probables also had extensive stretches of fielding.Among them was Harbhajan Singh who spent a long time guarding the covers before turning his arm over. The 8216;Turbanator8217; is back in contention after a period of six months.
