Seles outs Hingis
Sixth-seeded three-time champion Monica Seles sent world number-one Martina Hingis crashing out of the French Tennis Open tournament in Paris on Thursday when she scored a 6-3, 6-2 victory in 69 minutes. Seles, now plays Spain’s Arantxa Sanchez Vicario who defeated American Lindsay Davenport 6-3 7-6 (7-5).

Paes-Bhupathi lose
Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi crashed out of the men’s doubles event of the French Open. The Indian pair were beaten 6-1 7-6 by Bahamas’ Mark Knowles and Daniel Nestor of Canada in a semifinal clash.
