Anjali bags National wrestling gold
Anjali Deokar, a local woman wrestler has won the gold for Maharashtra at the second women’s national wrestling championship at Lucknow. Karishna Gaikwad won a bronze. Seven players from the Siddhibag Judo Hall represented the State in the championship.
Kabbadi tournament from May 22 to 26
Vishwakarma Sangh will conduct a kabaddi tournament for girls and boys in memory of late Krishna Potphode and late Madhukar Wadke from May 22 to 26. The tournament is being conducted in association with the Pune District Kabaddi Association at Twashta Kasar Samaj Sanstha ground, Kasba Peth, and will witness participation in two weight categories among boys 35 and 41 kgs.
The girls section, meanwhile, will see the competition only in the 45 kg category competition, informed organiser Girish Potphode. The interested clubs or teams may contact the Pune District Kabaddi Association office, located at the Nehru Stadium premises, in the evenings.
