Rawat guides GBSSS to victory
Man of the match Sanjay Rawat’s 50 guided Government Boys Senior Secondary School (Vikaspuri) to score a five-wicket win over Chand Khanna to enter the quarter-final of the first Poolworld East Delhi (under-19) tournament at Yamuna Sports complex.

In another match, fine knocks by Gaurav Bhardwaj (58 not out) and Rajan Gupta (48) enabled LB Shastri humble Goswami Club by seven wickets to reach the quarter-final. Sachin Kumar (35) and Tarun (31) scored for the losers.

City Boys win
A quickfire knock of 52 by Rohit Jagota and useful 50 by Maninder Singh Dawar helped City Boys Academy beat Young Friends Academy by 72 runs in the second round league match of the Namdhari Suba Ganda Singh (u-16) tournament. Rohit Bakshi, Monu Sharma and Ajay Singhal were the main wicket-takers for the winners while Rakshit Pant and Pankaj claimed two wickets each giving 36 and 19 runs, respectively, for the losers.

Crifit triumph
An unbeaten 58 by Abhishek and Rahul’s 3 for 51 enabled Crifit Academy defeat Young Friends (juniors) by 22 runs in the second Rajesh Peter Memorial tournament at Shanti Sports complex.

Brief scores: Crifit Academy: 168 for 5 (Abhishek 58 not out, Amit 2 for 36) bt Young Friends: 146 for 8 (Gaurav 29, Ishan 23, Rahul 3 for 51, Kapil 2 for 19).

Ratan impressive
A fine spell of bowling by Ratan Chauhan (4 for 37) and Rajesh’s 45 powered Pusa Youngster to a seven-run victory over Clintus Packers and Movers in a limited overs match at Ramjas Sports complex.

Rajesh, Yogesh, Atul and Akshay were the batting heroes for Pusa Youngster while Sandeep Shamra scored 68 for the losers.

Arvachin academy
Former India cricketer Maninder Singh and former Ranji player Sumit Dogra will train young cricket aspirants in the newly-formed Arvachin Cricket Academy. The academy, which is situated in Arvachin Public School premises in Vivek Vikar, will have Dronacharya Awardee Gurcharan Singh as a special visiting trainer. Four new pitches have been laid for the academy. Registration begins from April 15.
