
Indians struck by Cairns lightning
Local hero Chris Cairns played one of the most punishing one-day innings seen from a New Zealand player for many years. In his 100th international match Cairns delighted the large crowd of 15,000 as he blazed his second one day hundred, hitting six sixes and five fours in an amazing display of power and control, making 115 off just 83 balls. It was the fastest one-day hundred by a New Zealand batsman.
Korda survives

Thus went Petr Korda8217;s return to the Australian Open, where last year, at age 30, the Czech player finally won his first Grand Slam title and captured the fans8217; affections with his exuberant scissors-kicks and cartwheels.
England win
