Kanishka, former ITDC group hotel will soon come up by the name of Shangri-La. Asia’s leading luxury hotel group, Shangri-la Hotels and Resorts has announced its initial foray into the Indian market with the signing of a new management agreement with Hotel Excelsior Pvt Ltd, a member of the Eros group of India, for this hotel. After a massive renovation, costing over $30 million, the new 354 room deluxe Shangri-La Hotel will be opened in December 2004. The contemporary-styled Shangri-La hotel will feature high-speed internet access and wireless LAN throughout the hotel as well as three new meeting rooms and a 450 square-metre ballroom.
