July 27: Taju Shaikh scored an easy win over Sanjay cHALLAPPA TO WIN THE boys under-18 title of the 10th Thane District Championship carrom tournament, today.Taju won 25-2, 25-2 to clinch a one-sided final.Kalyan Sports Club won the team title blanking CKP Sports Club 3-0.Top seed Shilpa Joshi made the women8217;s final with a 25-14, 25-16 victory over fifth-seeded Sumedha Karkanis. Her adversary in the final will be No 2 seed Sujata Hailinge who got the better of Meenal Lele, the third seed, 25-0, 25-13.
