Second seed Khalid Atlas Khan of Pakistan, top seed Ritwik Bhattacharya and women8217;s fourth seed Shivangi Paranjpe all made it to the quarter finals of the the ISP Platinum All-India Squash Carnival 2007 here on Sunday. Khalid made quick work of Prateek Tomar thrashing him 11-4, 11-2, 11-4. Top seed Ritwik Bhattacharya, followed him into the quarterfinals with a thoroughly professional performance in his win over Vivek Khanna 11-0, 11-1, 11-2.
Local girl Shivangi Paranjpe kept her chances of winning the womens crown alive when she beat Purvi Bala convincingly 11-2, 11-0. Paranjpe looked in good touch as she stoked the ball too well for her opponent. Her shots seemed faultless as she took her opponent apart in a matter of minutes. The game was a one sided affair that Paranjpe pushing Bala into a corner and making sure she kept her there.
