
With dandiya organisers booking many big venues of the city for Navratras and celebrities from Mumbai are expected to descend on the city, no stone have been left unturned to ensure fool-proof security arrangements.
At the Netaji Indoor Stadium, apart from CCTVs, 250 guards from a private agency will be deployed to ensure security.
8220;Every year, we deploy around 150 security guards, but this year we have decided to increase their number to 250. Besides, there will be 50 police-approved armed guards to patrol the venue,8221; said Tushar Doshi, organiser of the Navratri Dandia Mahotsav.
Apart from CCTVs, the VIP enclosure will be fitted with a special cameras. 8220;We have already sold around 7,500 passes in the last four days. Hence, we are not taking any chances with security this year,8221; Doshi added.
CCTVs have emerged as the obvious choice to man the dance venues. Swabhumi will have six CCTVs, besides, 35 bouncers and 20 guards deployed at various places.
8220;It is for the first time that we are going to install CCTVs at the dance venue. We have also installed metal detectors at various entry points and will have sniffer dogs in the parking lot,8221; event manager Sandip Sharma said.
Tight security arrangements have also been made by the organisers at Nicco Park. Metal detectors, a bomb detection squad of Gorkha Regiment, sniffer dogs, 80 black cat commandos, will look after the security at the venue.
