A superb all-round performance by Kshemal Waingankar helped MCA Colts beat National Cricket Club by two wickets in the second round of the Police Invitation Shield Cricket Tournamnet (70 Overs) sponsored by ORRA at Cross Maidan here on Sunday.

After picking eight wickets (21-4-58-8) to restrict National to 217, Waingankar went on to score an unbeaten 38 in his side’s total of 222-8. He was involved in an unbroken 50-run partnership for the ninth wicket with Harmeet Singh (19) that went on through 18 overs and for 64 minutes. Before the stand came, MCA were tottering at 172 for 8.

An unbroken tenth-wicket stand of 81 runs between Ahmad Nizam (50) and sandeep Bhandari (31) enabled ORRA pip PJHindu Gymkhana by a wicket. Hindu Gymkhana made 243, where Dhien Salvi made 90 with the help of a six and ten fours. ORRA reached the target with an over to spare.
