The Supreme Court today allowed former Bihar CM and RJD leader Laloo Prasad Yadav to visit Pakistan from August 9 to 11 after he gave an undertaking not to question the continuance of trial and recording of evidence in fodder scam cases in his absence.
A special bench comprising Justice S.N. Variava, Justice P.V. Reddi and Justice Ashok Bhan asked Yadav to return to India by August 17 and deposit his passport with the CBI at Patna by August 18.
The bench had directed the CBI yesterday to give the passport to Yadav for renewing it. The order permitting him was passed after counsel B.B. Singh said the affidavit has been filed. Yadav is leaving tomorrow as part of a team of MPs and mediapersons on invitation by South Asian Free Media Association.
