UP weather alert: Temperatures to fall sharply in next two weeks, here’s the forecast

Air quality in several Uttar Pradesh cities remained poor, particularly in western regions such as Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, Noida, Baghpat, and Khurja, as temperatures continue to drop.

As per the India Meteorological Department’s forecast, “Moderate fog and mist during morning hours and haze during rest of the day” is expected to continue for next few days. Cold winds were also witnessed during morning hours in various parts of the state.

The temperature is also expected to dip further. On Friday, the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to settle at 29 degrees Celsius and 17 degrees Celsius respectively.

As per experts, it is likely to drop to 14-16 degrees Celsius in the coming week (till November 14) and is likely to further witness a further drop up to 10-12 degrees Celsius in the week thereafter (from November 14-20).

As of 1.05 pm on Friday, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data showed that several UP cities which recorded ‘Poor’ Air Quality Index including Ghaziabad (294), Noida (289), Greater Noida (269), Baghpat (265), and Khurja (262). Lucknow’s AQI, meanwhile, was in the ‘Moderate’ range of 146.

As per the health impact on the CPCB website, ‘Poor’ AQI in these cities can lead to “breathing discomfort to most people on prolonged exposure”. ‘Moderate AQI’ can cause breathing discomfort to people with lung disorders, asthma and heart diseases.
