Sarna to stay as MEA spokesperson

The Government has reversed its earlier decision on changing the spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs and has asked Navtej Sarna to contiue in the post.

He was to be shifted as Joint Secretary (Disarmament) in the Ministry of External Affairs .

The purpose behind the rethink, sources said, was to ensure ‘‘continuity’’ with several key visits coming up in the days ahead. According to earlier orders, India’s Deputy High Commissioner in Bangladesh Dalip Sinha was to take over from Sarna.
