NEW DELHI, MARCH 16: Striker Sanjeev Sharma of Indian Nationals will lead a 20-member Delhi State for participation in the 55th Senior National Football Championship for BPCL Santosh Trophy starting later this month from at Channai.

Goalkeeper Bishwanath Deb of City Club has been named as vice-captain.

The team was named by the selection committee comprising O.P. Malhotra chairman, N. K. Bhatia convener, B. S. Chauhan and Abdul Azis after a 45-day open trials-cum-coaching camp at PGDAV College and Ambedkar Stadium.

The members of the squad are: Goal-keepers: Bishwanath Deb City, Vinay Singh Mughals. Deep-Defenders: Vinod Negi Delhi Police, Rajesh Joshi SBI, Pushpinder Kundu Mughals, Subhash Negi N. D. Heroes, Simon Peter City, Bishwajid Kundu Hindustan, Inderjit Dhar Mughals, Dharam Pal Rawat City. Mid-fielders: Biren Metal Youngmen, Dinesh Dondiyal Shastri, Bappa Nskr Mughals, Yash Pal Rawat Youngmen, Joy Paul Raj City, Ajay Kumar N. D. Heroes. Forwards: Bhupender Thakur Shastri, Dhartmender Kharola Indian Nationals, Sanjeev Sharma Indian National, Abhijoy Basu SBI.

Stand-byes: Sandeep Nag, Sandeep Dhule Moonlight, Kamal Bhkuni City, Subir Bhattacharya Mughals, Shyam Kumar, Negeshwar Rao City, Shekhar Khanna Mughals.

Delhi have been placed along with Gujarat and Meghalaya in Group 4 in cluster C.
