Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt and wife Manyata have been directed by a local court to appear before it on April 15 in connection with an undertrial’s application stating the couple’s marriage was illegal.

Dutt’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde told the court on Tuesday that the couple did not come as they were not served the summons and so they be exempted on Tuesday, adding the two will appear on the next date.

Meraj Rehman, an undertrial in custody for sending obscene messages to bollywood actresses, has claimed that Manyata was married to him and they have not yet divorced in accordance with laws. As such, she is still his wife and her marriage to Dutt is illegal.
