Ruparel, MCC lead respective groups

Ruparel defeated Vivekanand Engineering 2.5-1.5 this mirning. Sachin Karnik of Ruparel beat Vivekanand8217;s Madon R. Ruparel8217;s Rajesh Bandekar, Vikas Dubey and Hrishikesh Chavan were successful in holding Vivekanand8217;s Srinivas, Vivek B and Sumit Govlani respectively. Vivekanand are on second spot with seven points.

In Group B, defending champions MCC swept aside Vasai8217;s Vartak 4-0 to gain lead. CHM College, Ulhasnagar, drew with RK Talreja to move into second spot with 14.5 points.

Malti Vatvar Chetna, Sachin Karnik Ruparel and Anant Chavan Ruia have all won six games.

Rapid chess

Kulkarni Chess Group will organise a rapid chess tournament on September 25-26 st Suyog Mangal Karyalaya, Dombivli.

Competition willbe held in three age groups, under-10, 14 and open.
