
The Congress high command8217;s green signal to Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna to resign and return to active politics has caused a virtual rebellion in the party. Many top party leaders from Karnataka have conveyed their displeasure to Prithrivraj Chauhan, AICC general secretary in charge of Karnataka their opposition to this move. At a meeting at Chavan8217;s residence on Friday, convened to elicit views on the implications for the party of the Delimitation Commission recommendations, senior leaders from Karnataka, especially Margaret Alva and Veerappa Moily, attacked Krishna. Alva was learnt to have commented that if Krishna has to come to active politics, he should be inducted in the Central Cabinet or given some responsibility in the AICC, not allowed a role in the state. Chavan remained a patient listener.
