Former India cricketer Rohan Gavaskar and Karnataka allrounder Stuart Binny have joined the the Indian Cricket League, swelling the strength of the rebel group. Rohan, son of legendary Sunil Gavaskar, has played in 11 one-day internationals and has captained Bengal in Ranji Trophy cricket tournament, while Stuart, son of former India allrounder Roger Binny, has played for Karnataka in domestic competitions.

Adam Gilchrist supports ICL

Johannesburg: Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist supported the Indian Cricket League ICL, saying it could help end the International Cricket Council8217;s ICC monopoly over the game by bringing in more opportunities for players. 8220;I think the ICC does have a monopoly on the game, and it8217;s nice for the players to have more opportunities and to have more control of their futures,8221; Gilchrist was quoted as saying in the South African media. 8220;It8217;s quite a good thing for guys like me who are at the back end of their careers. I8217;m 10 years older than guys like Graeme Smith, and about eight years older than Daniel Vettori, so it8217;s a great opportunity,8221; he said.
