Rlys marks energy conservation week

The Pune Division of the Central Railways has been celebrating 8216;Energy conservation week8217;. The events which began on December 14 will go on till December 21. As part of the conservation week, Divisional Railway Manager D K Jain inaugurated an exhibition of the projects run by solar energy 8212; solar lighting system, solar thermal system and wind solar hybrid system.

The Central Railways has also organised a conference on this occasion. 8220;Energy is life. It is very essential that we must try to save energy as much as possible,8221; Jain said. He said the railways is also trying to save energy by using compact fluorescent lamps at waiting halls, dormitories and retiring rooms by using the sodium lamps.

Vinit Kumar, senior divisional electrical engineer, welcomed Jain. Yogesh Asthana, general manager, Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd RVNM, was also present with other divisional officers and staff. M P Khobragade, divisional electrical engineer general proposed a vote of thanks.
