NEW DELHI, May 6: A captain’s knock of 100 not out by Uttar Pradesh Ranji batsman Rizwan Shamshad and fine bowling by India left-arm spinner Rahul Sanghvi (5 for 35) helped Oil and Natural Gas Corporation beat Young Friends by four wickets to enter the quarterfinal of the 26th Goswami Ganesh Dutt memorial tournament at Hindu College.

Yoginder Negi (34), Pankaj Tyagi (25) and Kshitj (69: 7×4, 1×6, 81b) helped Young Friends reach 207 for nine. Sanghvi was the most successful bowler while medium pacer Amit Bhandari took two wickets.

ONGC lost three wickets for 43 in 10 overs before Rizwan and Gautam Vadhera staged a partial recovery. They lost Sehwag and Amit Sharma cheaply but Rizwan and Mohd Saif carried them past the target.
