S A S NAGAR, June 18: The non-payment of salary by the factory management has led to serious resentment among workers of the local unit of Molins of India Limited.
The workers alleged that the management was not paying the salary of factory employees in time. A senior official of the factory management said that the payment of salary was being regularly given, despite a financial crunch the unit had been facing over the last two years.
Reacting to the statement of the factory management, the union representatives said that for the last six months, the salary had not been disbursed on first of each month.
They further added that the management instead of following the model code formulated by the Punjab Labour Commission, had formulated its own code of conduct.
This was brought to the notice of the Labour Commissioner for “stringent” action, the leaders added.
