
Ramesh penalised for dissent8217;CALCUTTA, Feb 18: Indian opener Sadagoppan Ramesh was today given a one-match suspended sentence for three months for showing dissent after he was given out on the second day of the Asian Test Championship match between India and Pakistan being held at the Eden Gardens here.
The secretary, Board of Control for Cricket in India BCCI Jaywant Lele said taking into account that it was Ramesh8217;s first offence, he was given a one-match suspended sentence test or one day international, for the three month period February 18 to May 17.
A hearing was held at the end of the second day8217;s play by match referee Cammie Smith and Ramesh was found guilty under Clause 3 of the International Cricket Council ICC Code of Conduct.
Ramesh was reported yesterday by umpire David Orchard of South Africa for showing dissent after he was given out leg before wicket by hesitating at the crease and raising his bat indicating that he had made contact with the ball.
