GURDASPUR, Aug 10: A massive rally of ex-servicemen was held under the aegis of station headquarters, Tibri Military Station, in the cantonment premises today.Brig A.K. Singh, station commander, while addressing the rally, lauded the role of ex-servicemen during the active service in the Army as well as in the civil jobs after retirement.He assured the ex-servicemen and widows of the ex-servicemen of all help in solving the problems faced by them. Capt. Jagir Singh, deputy director, Sainik Welfare Board, Gurdaspur, while addressing the rally, informed about the various facilities and concessions provided to the ex-service men, their widows and wards by the state and the Army authorities. Lt. Colonel Amar Singh Virk, vice-president, District Sainik Welfare Board, Gurdaspur, also addressed the rally and spoke on the different problems faced by the ex-servicemen. On this occasion, 150 war widows were presented gifts by A.K. Singh, wife of the station commander.Gurdaspur: An awareness rally was held here today on the occasion of the Krantivir Divas, in which the students of different schools participated.Som Nath, additional deputy commissioner (Development), flagged off the procession which terminated at the Nehru Park here after passing through the main markets of the town.
