BJP chief Rajnath Singh on Monday said the National Democratic Alliance NDA has opened its doors to more allies for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
8220;The number of NDA allies will certainly increase this time. Some new alliances might take place before the elections, whereas many may evolve after the polls,8221; he said here. 8220;Negotiations are underway with several outfits. Some are in their final stages,8221; he added.
Singh is here to take stock of his party8217;s campaign for the April 12 bypolls. However, the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister refused to comment on his party8217;s prospects in the bypoll. 8220;I am yet to get any feedback from the state leaders,8221; he said.
He ruled out the existence of the UNPA United National Progressive Alliance, saying it had scattered even before taking a proper shape. 8220;Today, if there is any strong alliance in the country, it is the NDA,8221; he added.
He also completely ruled out the possibility of any alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party BSP. 8220;Dejected by the Samajwadi Party rule, the public gave a clear and enthusiastic mandate to the BSP. But this Government, too, has failed to provide them any relief.
Farmers in Bundelkhand are still committing suicide.8221;
He argued that if the BJP Government in Chhattisgarh could give foodgrains to farmers at cheap rates, why can8217;t the BSP Government do the same in Bundelkhand.
Singh also lashed out at the United Progressive Alliance UPA on the issue of price rise. 8220;I wonder why every time when the Congress comes to power, it is unable to check the rise in price. Inflation was never an issue during the six-year BJP rule.8221;
Demanding a White Paper from the UPA Government on inflation, Singh exhorted the Left Front to withdraw support from Centre.
8220;But the Left will not withdraw support fearing that the BJP would return to power,8221; he quipped, adding that 8220;the BJP assures the Left that it will not form the Government, instead, it would go for polls.8221;
