At the end of the first phase of her Parivartan Yatra in Rajasthan, BJP state president Vasundhara Raje lashed out against the Ashok Gehlot government, saying it had failed to provide drought relief.

Sounding alarm bells about the devastating drought in the tribal belts of Udaipur, she said the Rajasthan government was not able to provide them any relief. ‘‘There is a crisis of drinking water everywhere and the grain people are supposed to get under the food for work programme is being sold in the black market,’’ alleged Raje.

Refuting Gehlot’s contention that the Centre was not sending enough foodgrains, Raje said it was a ploy to mislead people. ‘‘To hide their failure, the government is making the trishul, dhanush-baan and sword an issue. However, the BJP is going to make the government’s failure the main issue in the forthcoming elections,’’ Raje said.
