The Governing Council of Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Udaan Academy (IGRUA) on Thursday met to deliberate issues relating to the development of the institution as the country’s premier flight training academy. MP Rahul Gandhi, who is a member of the governing council, also attended the meeting.

Sources said issues relating to finalising the modalities of the MoU signed between IGRUA and Canadian Aviation Electronics (CAE) Inc, awarding a 10-year management contract to the latter, were discussed at the meeting. Also, on the agenda was acquiring more trainer aircraft for the academy.

According to the MoU signed in June, the CAE has to assume full responsibility of the management of IGRUA’s existing flying school operations.
