Veteran Bangladesh spinner Mohammad Rafique will retire from international cricket after an upcoming home series against South Africa, selectors announced on Thursday. The left-arm spinner, ignored for a recent tour of New Zealand, was recalled for a two-Test series beginning in Mirpur on February 22. The tourists will also play three one-day internationals.
“Rafique is our most experienced spinner. We have recalled him because our chances of winning the series depend on him,” Bangladesh’s chief selector Rafiqul Alam said.
