NEW DELHI: The CBI has registered a case under the Official Secrets Act against unknown persons’ involved in the leakage of Jain Panel report on the Rajiv assassination case, an official release said on Monday. The case has been registered following directions from the Home Ministry since the leakage of the interim report “is a matter of great public interest”.

Home Minister Indrajit Gupta has already announced holding of a probe into the matter in the Lok Sabha after tabling of the report on November 20.

MUMBAI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Mahohar Joshi reiterated that, in the event of a mid-term poll, the Shiv Sena and BJP will contest it as an alliance and there was no question of deserting BJP as reported in a section of the press.

Clarification

The statement attributed to Fali S Nariman on the Justice Punchhi issue in these columns in the issue dated on Sunday, November 23 was, in fact, the unanimous resolution of the Bar Association of India. Nariman had made no separate statement.
