NEW DELHI: Three persons were killed and about 40 injured, three seriously, when two powerful bomb blasts rocked the congested Chandni Chowk area of central Delhi Sunday evening, police said. While the first blast took place at Katra’s Sehansahi area at around 1800 hours, the other occured within five minutes near the Sunehri Masjid about 500 metres from the site of the first blast. Both the blasts were not similar in nature, police said.

SUCI men killed

CALCUTTA: Unidentified gunmen shot dead three activists of the Socialist Unity Centre of India at Monrejgarh village in South 24-Parganas district Saturday night. The police said Sunday that the three were returning home after attending a wedding reception at a nearby village when they were attacked and shot at from close range. All the three died on the spot.
