Pak disbands 2000 NGOs

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani authorities have disbanded nearly 2,000 NGOs, frozen their bank accounts and assets and threatened to take action against others, including the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan. The Punjab government, headed by Premier Nawaz Sharif8217;s brother Shahbaz Sharif, said this was done as the NGOs were involved in quot;undesirable activitiesquot;.

Heat relents
