
Five of family shot dead
HISAR:FIVE members of the family of a village sarpanch were gunned down in Mattersham, about 15 km from here, on Thursday night. The assailants forced into the house of Ishwar Singh, a Haryana Vikas Party HVP worker, at midnight and shot to death his two sons, Satpal 22 and Krishan 18, wife Krisha 40, father Prahlad 70 and brother Chander8217;s wife Roshni 32. Police said it appeared to be a case of personal enmity.
Delhi fire claims 1
NEW DELHI:A four-year-old girl was charred to death and at least 200 hutments destroyed in a fire at Jehangirpuri in north-east Delhi on Thursday, fire brigade officials said. The cause of the fire, which started around 12.40 pm, is yet to be ascertained.

Gandhi kin dead
JOHANNESBURG:A grand-daughter of Mahatma Gandhi, Sita Dhupella, died in Durban on Wednesday, aged 70. Dhupella was the eldest child of Manilal Gandhi who had settled in South Africa.

ETAWAH:A government school teacher was stoned to death at Bekbar village on Thursday after he protested against illegal occupation of his land by some miscreants.
